How We Did It

Over a hundred years ago, Lord Kelvin predicted how valuable data acquisition would be. Today, many scientists and engineers take for granted the fact they can connect their advanced apparatus into a computer and see the numbers on screen. For those of us working with less mainstream equipment, data acquisition can be a challenge even more difficult than knowing how to improve your system.

The developers at Pyrix have significant experience in creating data acquisition systems and building support software for visualization and analysis. For some examples, Pyrix has worked with data acquisition for:

• Racing car testing and simulation. Using existing standards for output from racing instrumentation, Pyrix developed a user-friendly data viewer allowing the user to display the data in a variety of formats. In addition, computed data and special scripts written by the user could be run with minimal effort.
• Parts testing machinery. Special-built testing equipment was built and controlled via software written. In addition, the software allowed users to analyze and display the results from a series of tests.
